The annual Wellcome Photography Prize seeks to tell provocative visual stories about the health challenges of our time. Applicants can enter either the single image or series category for one of the themes. The 2020 prize had five categories: Social Perspectives, Hidden Worlds, Medicine in Focus, and two categories on Mental Health, which was the special theme for the year.
We were initially invited to design and produce the 2020 Wellcome Photography Prize exhibition under a different scheme at the Lethaby Gallery, London. Unfortunately Covid restrictions didn’t allow the exhibition to proceed as planned so we worked with the Wellcome to design and produce a touring version of the exhibition that could be implemented at short notice in outdoor and indoor spaces when the restrictions are lifted.
The design is modular and can be extended, duplicated and adapted if required to add lighting
etc. The lightweight frame houses silicon edged graphic prints housed in a powder coated aluminium framework which can be changed quickly and economically to allow for changing content.
Please note: The images show the prototype unit. More photos to follow once the current situation allows!
